Security Officer

Pay:
Base Wage starting at $16.92; increased based on experience

Essential Functions:

• Patrolling the hospital premises and identifying suspicious activity
• Ensuring that the security arrangements in the hospital like computers, alarm systems and close circuit cameras are functioning properly
• Following set methods of hospital security and recommending upgrading of the existing system if needed
• Placing miscreants under citizen's arrest until they can be handed over to the law enforcement officials
• Monitoring all areas of the hospital for possible threats
• In case of fire or bomb threats, taking charge of evacuating the hospital
• Forming a liaison between the hospital and law enforcement agency
• Maintains security logs and reports and activity
• Reporting any facility issues such as fire hazards or leaking water pipes

• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels
• Should be alert and have excellent observation skills
• Ability to take swift and efficient action in times of emergency
• Ability to memorize the rules, regulations, and hospital layout to monitor entry and exit points
• Effective oral and written communication and analytical skills

Working Conditions:

• Exposure to distressed patients, families or visitors
• Possible exposure to inside environmental conditions

Physical Demands:

• Requires standing, sitting or walking for up to 8 hours or longer per day
• The ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous Security experience
• Healthcare experience
• Military and or Law enforcement experience
