Location: Fort Leonard Wood
Duties
* Primarily responsible for the implementation of policies and development of procedures for the physical protection
* Coordinate with other installation elements and other agencies in the preparation of emergency plans
* Prepare reports and makes recommendations for remedial actions when warranted to appropriate supervisors/chiefs.
* Advise the Director of Emergency Services on all physical security matters
* Prepare, maintain and update the arms, ammunition and explosives and physical security plans
* Present orientations and classes on physical security to security representatives/activity personnel.
* Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. Requirements Conditions of employment
* Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
* This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
* This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
* This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPED Certification:
Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.
* This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
* This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment.
* This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
* The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
* This position has been designated "Mission Essential". (continued below)
* In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations. Qualifications Who May Apply:
