Duties and Responsibilities Work Habits (40%)- Administers and maintains the College’s video surveillance systems across all SLCC campuses.
- Monitors and evaluates camera coverage to ensure critical campus areas are properly monitored.
- Maintains and manages the College’s electronic access control systems, including card readers and door schedules.
- Adjusts and manages access control schedules based on campus operations, holidays, and special events.
- Maintains accurate records and data related to system users, access permissions, and system activity.
- Perform regular audits of security systems to identify system issues, coverage gaps, or operational improvements.
- Coordinates with vendors and IT personnel to troubleshoot and maintain security systems and related infrastructure.
- Assists with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of cameras, card readers, and related equipment.
- Maintains system databases associated with surveillance and access control technologies.
- Supports the implementation and use of AI-assisted monitoring tools and security system analytics.
- Reviews system analytics and reports to identify potential security risks or operational improvements.
- Maintains documentation related to system configuration, access permissions, and equipment inventories.
- Assists with evaluating new technologies to enhance campus safety and security operations.
- Monitors system alerts, analytics platforms, and surveillance systems to identify equipment issues, access irregularities, or security-related concerns.
- Retrieves and reviews video footage for incidents, investigations, and law enforcement requests.
- Demonstrates a high level of personal accountability by completing assignments accurately, on time, and with minimal supervision.
- Maintains professionalism and composure when responding to system issues, emergencies, or sensitive incidents.
- Consistently follows established departmental procedures, security protocols, and documentation standards.
- Demonstrates reliability through regular attendance, responsiveness, and timely follow-up on assigned tasks.
- Maintains strict confidentiality regarding surveillance footage, access control data, investigations, and sensitive campus security information.
- Exercises sound judgment when handling privileged information, system permissions, and security-related records.
- Demonstrates discretion and objectivity during investigations and evidence review processes.
- Uses security technologies and institutional data only for authorized business purposes and in accordance with College policy.
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail when configuring systems, maintaining records, reviewing analytics, and monitoring alerts.
- Accurately documents system changes, maintenance activities, access permissions, and equipment inventories.
- Proactively identifies system inconsistencies, equipment failures, or coverage gaps and escalates concerns appropriately.
- Maintains awareness of campus operations, schedules, and events to ensure security systems support institutional needs.
- Demonstrates initiative in identifying opportunities for operational improvement, enhanced monitoring, or increased system efficiency.
- Provides clear, professional updates on incidents, equipment issues, and system performance.
- Responds promptly to alerts, technical issues, and security-related concerns to minimize operational disruptions.
- Communicates effectively with campus personnel, IT staff, vendors, law enforcement, and supervisors regarding system issues and operational needs.
- Works collaboratively with stakeholders to coordinate maintenance, troubleshooting, and security related projects.
- Demonstrates willingness to learn emerging technologies, analytics platforms, and AI-assisted monitoring tools.
