The College of the Ozarks is seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and service-oriented
professional to serve as a Public Safety Officer. The Public Safety Officer is responsible for
helping maintain a safe, secure, orderly, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff,
visitors, and the College community.
Under the direction of the Director of Public Safety, the Public Safety Officer patrols campus,
responds to calls for service and emergencies, monitors security systems, enforces College
policies and regulations, provides assistance to members of the campus community, documents
incidents, and coordinates with local law enforcement, fire, EMS, and other emergency-response
agencies when appropriate.
College of the Ozarks is a small liberal arts, work-study college with a commitment to
evangelical Christian faith and service located in southwest Missouri near Branson
(www.cofo.edu). The candidate must possess basic knowledge of public safety and security
standards and regulations, and demonstrate strong qualities that will represent the five-fold
mission of the College through Academic, Vocational, Christian, Cultural, and Patriotic goals.
This is a full time (year-round) position and includes benefits such as paid medical insurance,
retirement (403b), and vacation/sick paid time off.
This position requires a background check, psychological evaluation, and Fit for Duty exam.
