• The Utility Maintenance Technician performs preventative maintenance and routine/emergency repairs on the City's water and wastewater system and associated physical infrastructure.
• The position is responsible for connection and disconnection of customer services.
• The position maintains the sewer lagoon and operates the discharge pump.
• This position responds to emergencies on a 24-hour basis as assigned.

• High School Diploma or the equivalent
• One (1) year experience in general maintenance

• Possession of State of Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) certification in the following (or ability to obtain them within 24 months of employment):
  Water Treatment Level I;
  Water Distribution Level I;
  Wastewater Collection Level I;
  Wastewater Treatment Level I
