Lead Diesel Mechanic 1st Shift

WM is looking for an experienced Lead Diesel Mechanic to join our team.

• Starting salary based on experience ($55,000 - $95,000).

• Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 7:30 pm (occasional Saturday).
• Overtime required when necessary.
• Repair/maintenance shop at our De Soto, MO hauling site.

• Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems across a fleet of trucks and equipment.
• Estimate time and material costs for repairs and new parts.
• Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
• Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
• Conduct safety checks on vehicles, prioritizing employee and community safety.
• Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage and repair times.
• Assist senior mechanics with project work.
• Review, complete or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA standards and safety procedures.

• Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Over 18 years of age.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Successfully complete and pass pre‑employment drug screen and physical examination.

• Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching and climbing; constant standing, walking, and grasping; occasional sitting and balancing.

• Work in both indoor garage/shop conditions and outdoor conditions with inclement weather, heat, and humidity.
