Construction Generalist - YMCA of the Ozarks
The Gateway Region YMCA is one of the leading nonprofit charitable organizations in the St. Louis metropolitan region, focused on nurturing the potential of every child and teen, improving health and well‑being, and supporting and serving our neighbors. We serve more than 260,000 individuals annually through our 24 traditional branches located in St. Louis City, seven Missouri counties and six Illinois counties, as well as YMCA Trout Lodge, YMCA Camp Lakewood, the YMCA Community Development Branch, and our Washington University Campus Y Branch.
Interpret and analyze blueprints, sketches, and building plans to determine project layout, required dimensions, and materials. Remove damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repair or replace. Inspect, install, and repair ceiling or floor tile, wall coverings, siding, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, glass, or woodwork to detect broken or damaged structures. Read plans and frame structure accordingly. Lead in layout with joists, walls, trusses.
Must be able to precisely measure, cut, and assemble the framing lumber needed to build custom residential houses. Oversee all phases of project completion. Performs all other duties as assigned.

- Completed all state‑required classes and apprenticeship work.
- Possess a journeymans card.

- Excellent interpretation of blueprints and building plans.
- Ability to lead layout with joists, walls, and trusses.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
