DescriptionDescription:
Aircraft Mechanic III performs scheduled/unscheduled maintenance on specific applicable T/M/S aircraft airframe, ordnance, egress/life support system, power plants, corrosion control and painting, and related systems hired to maintain. Perform flight line essential services as directed by daily Flight Schedule. Maintains, repairs and modifies aircraft structures, aircraft ordnance systems, egress systems, structural components and engines of complex to extreme difficulty, maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, aviation ordnance systems, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components, and applies technical knowledge of airframe, ordnance and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation.
Routine lifting in excess of OSHA standards is required. Routine ordnance loading will require team lifts of ordnance items up to 167 pounds’ load share per team member, in accordance with standard USN procedures.
Shall have authority to direct Level I or II work center personnel to accomplish specific maintenance actions as required to accomplish maintenance tasking in accordance with Department of Labor Skill Code definitions (responsible for providing guidance and technical expertise to lower level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts.)
Applies professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals.
Qualifications- Candidates must have been released from military service with an Honorable Discharge to meet minimum qualifications.
- Shall have a minimum of 10 years of experience in USN/USMC/USCG O-Level maintenance in the specific T/M hired to maintain. This experience relates to structural repairs, hydraulics, egress, ordnance or power plants/related systems.
- Shall have three years T/M experience within the last seven years. Shall have a current state Driver’s License.
- High school graduate or equivalent. Specialized training courses are desirable.
- Shall have completed the appropriate T/M/S Navy Skill Specialty Class "C" school in airframe, ordnance, egress, hydraulic, power plants and related systems or USMC, USCG equivalent.
- Aviation Ordnance candidates experience shall be minimum 10 years O-Level experience.
- Experience as T/M/S aircraft CDI, CDQAR, is required.
