position summaryare you detail-oriented and mechanically inclined? Join our albany plant team in this class v maintenance position. You will inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain manufacturing equipment and facility systems, including mechanical, electrical (single- and three-phase), hydraulic, pneumatic, and plc-controlled machinery. You will install, dismantle, rig, fabricate, weld, and rebuild equipment and components, operate machine tools, and read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
You will perform preventive maintenance, maintain forklifts, cranes, and hoists, operate maintenance equipment, and support overall plant safety and reliability.

essential duties & responsibilities include the following:- visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
- listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discuss machines operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machines.
- dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts. This will include the rigging and installation of machinery.
- clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
- install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring (3-phase and single phase), and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
- lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
- repair and maintain physical structure of establishment.
- install, program, and/or repair programmable controls, and machine controllers.
- set up and operate machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools.
- operate cutting torch or welding equipment.
- fabricate and repair counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures.
- read and interpret blueprints, hydraulic, pneumatic, and/or electrical schematics.
- operate forklift, and other maintenance related equipment) examples include but not limited to man-lift, snowplow etc.
- repair and maintain forklifts and other related vehicles.
- repair and maintain hand tools, impact guns, saws, etc.
- perform preventive maintenance on all equipment and inspects cranes and hoist monthly.

education/experience- high school diploma or ged preferred
- ability to read and comprehend the english language – this includes simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos (i.e. Safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, shop-floor paperwork, and procedure manuals)
- ability to write simple correspondence
- ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- ability to compute rate and percent and interpret bar graphs
- ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
