Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician
Walmart is expanding its workforce across local retail stores and is actively recruiting a Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician. The role supports and oversees repair within the Walmart facilities refrigeration HVAC team, utilizing commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills along with hand, digital, and power tools to complete jobs.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and repair Walmart facility refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using commercial HVAC and refrigeration expertise and the necessary tools.
- Use the work order management system to receive and document repair work orders for store associates.
- Inspect, operate, and test equipment or fixtures to diagnose issues and provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
- Complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Environmental Protection Agency regulations according to Walmart's refrigeration HVAC safety policy.
- Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work comfortably at heights frequently.
- 2 years of experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
- Type I/Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record; able to pass an MVR report.
- Minimum age 18 with a high‑school diploma or equivalent.
- Large‑scale rack refrigeration experience (preferred).
- Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2‑year mechanical maintenance experience in commercial HVAC/R and building controls or a related field.
- Mechanical license in the city/state where the job is located.
- Completion of a 2‑year HVAC/R program.
- Competitive base pay ($23–$45 per hour, with additional premium hours).
