What You Will Do
  • Receive service calls from the Service Resource Center and determine equipment/system malfunctions.
  • Contact customer representatives to ascertain equipment/systems problems.
  • Diagnose problems and perform service and repairs on electronic fire alarm systems and related building system products at customer sites.
  • Follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures and use technical manuals, part manuals, change notices, bulletins, and modification notices to repair equipment.
  • Service, troubleshoot, and install Fire & Life Safety systems from multiple manufacturers, including Simplex and Grinnell.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
  • Provide excellent customer service through consistent communication with district staff and customers to ensure satisfaction.
  • Complete service acknowledgements with proper coding via communication devices such as smartphones and laptops.
  • Obtain customer signatures upon completion of service calls.
  • Participate in scheduled on‑call rotations.
  • Train or mentor other members of the service team.
  • Provide customers with the highest level of service to resolve building inefficiencies and service‑related items.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, delivering solutions and outcomes at the time of service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
How You Will Do It
  • Organize and effectively utilize technical resources, information, material, and support to ensure efficient execution of all assigned tasks.
  • Maintain excellent written and verbal communication and outstanding customer‑service skills.
  • Program fire alarm, security, and access control system panels.
  • Utilize experience in CCTV, IT, and IP networks (a plus).
  • Complete and submit all required task‑related, activity, and productivity documentation in a timely manner.
  • Respond to on‑call and after‑hours work requirements as needed.
  • Recommend and provide solutions to keep facilities running efficiently, including upselling opportunities.
  • Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
What We Look For
  • 5+ years documented experience in low‑voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety systems, Access Control, Nurse Call, and Paging systems.
  • NICET Level II certification – strongly preferred.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals.
  • Knowledge of test equipment, multimeter, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Physical capability to carry and move equipment and tools up to 50–70 lbs.
  • Ability to work in unusual and difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, high‑lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, and above ceilings.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and overnight travel when required.
  • Strong customer‑service orientation.
  • Maintain truck inventory for timely customer responses.
  • Adherence to all safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and rapid learning ability.
  • Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets company requirements.
  • Retention of any licenses required by national, state, and local codes.
  • Competitive hourly rate: $29.33 – $37.02, based on education, experience, and skills.

Hiring Range: $29.33 – $37.02 per hour. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
