ADB is seeking a Foreman to join our wireline team and provide proficient‑level manual labor and equipment operations. This position will lead the installation of fiber‑optic cable for various telecommunications projects. - Provides proficient‑level manual labor and operations including hand digging with a shovel, setting up traffic control, entry‑level equipment operations, placing fiber, loading materials, operating equipment, and leading crews on various safety‑sensitive utility construction sites.
- Proficient with utility print and map reading.
- Has performed at least 1 year of independent operating of various equipment (directional drill, mini, plow, hydro, etc.) and is fully trained in all safety regulations of operating heavy equipment.
- Supports and leads the setup and shut‑down of utility construction projects, including traffic control on highways, side streets, parking lots, downtown locations, etc.
- Safety is the expectation; always leads and follows required safety practices while performing safety‑sensitive duties.
- Communicates professionally with customers, subcontractors, homeowners, etc., and addresses any complaints or issues that may arise.
- Trains other construction crew members on fiber installation practices, print reading, equipment operations, OSHA requirements, etc.
- Loads and unloads materials and equipment from vehicles at construction yards and job sites.
- Leads by example, ensures safety rules and regulations are followed, and can lead others on job sites.
- Performs on‑the‑job training with Senior Foreman and/or supervisors to grow skills in the utility construction trade.
- Leads the culture of identifying hazards by utilizing the pre‑task process.
- Performs other position duties when requested.
