Service Plumber

Southern Home Services is a residential HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical company that acquires, owns, and operates businesses around the United States. We are seeking a Service Plumber to join our growing team and provide high‑quality plumbing services to homeowners.

In this role, you will handle a range of residential plumbing tasks, troubleshooting, installing, and repairing plumbing systems while ensuring all work meets high‑quality standards and local codes. Strong problem‑solving and communication skills are essential.

• Diagnose problems and failures in plumbing systems and equipment.
• Determine whether repairs or replacements are needed for customers.
• Install and assemble plumbing systems and equipment, including valves, pipe fittings, and pipes.
• Perform installation, maintenance, and repairs on water and gas systems, pipes, fittings, and components.
• Test for leaks using compressed air and/or water to ensure functionality and safety.
• Repair and maintain plumbing systems by replacing washers, mending burst pipes, and clearing clogged drains.
• Manage inventory of plumbing supplies in the vehicle, including checking stock, placing orders, and verifying receipts.
• Keep equipment and tools operational by following manufacturers’ instructions and established procedures.
• Maintain safety equipment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• No license required.
• Minimum 2 years hands‑on experience in plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial systems.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications.
• Experience installing, maintaining, and repairing water, gas, and sewage systems.
• Familiarity with local and state plumbing codes and regulations.
• Experience with tools and equipment such as pipe cutters, threaders, and soldering tools.
• Strong problem‑solving skills to diagnose complex plumbing issues and recommend effective solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Physical fitness to perform demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials, working in confined spaces, and handling tools for extended periods.
• Commitment to safety protocols and maintaining a safe work environment.
• Proven customer service track record with professionalism and satisfaction focus.
• Basic knowledge of mobile apps and work‑management software to track tasks and report on job progress.
• Team leadership ability to supervise apprentices and coordinate with other trades.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and emergency calls.

• Active and valid Journeyman Plumbing License.
• Additional certifications such as backflow prevention or gas piping.

• Lifting 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
• Climbing ladders, accessing attics, navigating tight spaces, driving, entering crawlspaces, pushing, carrying, pulling, using hand tools, performing fine detail work.
• Ability to drive and work in various environments, including indoor/outdoor, attics, crawlspaces.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, both in person and by telephone.
• Use hands to handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms.
• Regularly stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch.
• Work requires regular exposure to extreme temperatures and adverse weather conditions.
