Avionics Install Technician‑2nd Shift
Full Time | On‑Site | Perryville, MO 63775, USA | 1095 days duty | 2nd Shift.
What You’ll Do- Removal and installation of panels, components and interiors, as well as repair work on avionics installations.
- Stamp, bundle and install connectors on wiring.
- Removal of old wiring and installation of new wire bundles in aircraft.
- Troubleshooting and evaluation of avionics systems on the aircraft when designated.
- Inspection and evaluation of the aircraft and components when designated.
- Assist with aircraft movement and hangar stack when required.
- Maintain and repair shop facility, equipment and tooling.
- Use basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals and maintenance databases.
- Work within a team process.
- Work independently on projects when required.
- Effectively and clearly communicate in English.
- Perform any other job‑related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
A high school diploma or equivalent. Electronics or Avionics training is preferred. A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.
Your ExperienceTech I – 0‑2 years of experience in avionics, military avionics or electrical field. Technicians have very limited to no knowledge of the position and require close supervision and constant check‑ins on work performance.
Tech II – 2‑4 years of experience in avionics or military avionics field. Considerable knowledge of the job with a broad understanding of detailed aspects. Requires general supervision and instructions.
Tech III – 4‑6 years of experience in avionics or military avionics field. Full knowledge of the job and complete understanding of detailed aspects. Limited supervision required. Can act as trainer or mentor to other technicians.
Master Technician – 6+ years’ experience with corporate/business avionics systems. Exclusive knowledge in all areas of the job. Subject matter expert with a wide and comprehensive knowledge of the job.
Additional Requirements- Attend work every day as scheduled, including overtime and weekend assignments.
- Notify supervisor in advance if unable to work.
- Reliable transportation to get to work each day.
- Work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines and company safety rules.
- Maintain customer‑oriented work habits.
- Lifts 50 lbs.
- Routine walking, bending, squatting or sitting.
- Routine or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands.
- Standing for long periods.
- Climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas.
- Understand and implement regulations and guidelines.
- Follow wiring diagrams, route and terminate wires at proper locations.
- Troubleshoot, evaluate and perform functional tests for various avionics and instrument systems.
- Work with others professionally.
Work under supervision of assigned Team Leader and Director of Maintenance. May be directed to supervise other technicians in some capacity.
Working ConditionsHangar environment with extreme temperature variations. Work outside during aircraft runs. Varied positions in and around the aircraft.
Equipment Used- Personal hand tools supplied by the mechanic.
- Pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical equipment.
- Jacks, stands, lifts and other support devices.
- Engine‑powered equipment such as tugs and power carts.
- Crimpers, soldering iron and heat guns.
Shift differential is provided for alternate shifts. Total compensation includes semi‑annual discretionary bonus, 401(k) company match and employer contribution to a Health Savings Account (HSA).
