Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Landscaping
The Grounds Laborer will perform work in accordance with the PWS requirements of the Branch, i.e., mowing, raking, weed abatement, tree trimming, weed eating, planting of shrubs, trees (up to 6 feet), grass, fertilizing, street maintenance and policing of areas listed in the PWS.
Key Responsibilities /Accountabilities- Perform a wide variety of labor tasks involved in the maintenance of facilities, street maintenance equipment and grounds at the Fort Irwin National Training Center.
- Labor tasks provided to assist trades people in the repair and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and grounds at the Fort Irwin National Training Center and occasionally the Barstow Dagget Airfield.
- Participation in all APTIM/HDSS EHS and Quality procedures.
- Must be able to act professionally in the presence of the public and co-workers.
- Must be able to accurately track time, work orders, and parts using electronic devices.
- Education:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent. - Experience:
Working knowledge of landscaping equipment. - Licenses:
Must possess a valid California driver's license.
Position:
Extensive periods outdoors. Frequent exposure to dust, desert pollen, extreme heat and cold associated with desert environment and natural conditions existing on Fort Irwin.
Work Week:
Monday – Friday, 0700‑1530

Wage rates and fringe benefits for this position are governed by terms of a collective bargaining agreement (CBA) between the company and a union with jurisdiction for the job location.
CBAs for union projects typically include a retirement plan (such as a pension, annuity, or 401(k)), health insurance (e.g., medical, dental, vision), and other benefits. APTIM pays the costs for some fringe benefit plans for employees working on union projects. Under some CBAs, however, you may be required to contribute a percentage of your wages toward the cost of these benefits.
Additionally, you may also qualify for paid sick leave, paid holidays, paid vacation, and supplemental insurance plans (e.g., life, short-term disability, long-term disability). The CBA contains the terms and conditions of eligibility as well as information about any costs to you.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $22.47 per hour.
