Job Responsibilities
- Practice safety rules.
- Follow verbal and written instructions.
- Report to and assist immediate supervisor.
- Perform quality work as determined by project specifications.
- Accountable for all tools and materials at the end of your shift.
- Work well as part of a team.
- Mobilize equipment being operated, including loading, unloading, securing, set up, and tear down.
- Ensure that all equipment, vehicles, and tools are properly accounted for, used for the correct purpose, and are maintained.
- Serve as backup to other positions at the direction of management and perform other duties as assigned.
- Lift, push, pull up to 50 pounds daily; occasional assistance may be required for items over 50 pounds.
- Grasp and manipulate various hand tools daily.
- Stand for more than two hours at a time, including twisting, bending, pulling, pushing, reaching, and stooping regularly.
- Identify and distinguish colors; use manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
- Communicate orally and understand spoken instructions.
- Operate motorized equipment safely, following all safety procedures.
- Work in environments that may be uncomfortable due to drafts, noise, temperature variation, or similar conditions.
- Proofread and check documents for accuracy; use a keyboard to enter and transform words or data.
- Comply with the company’s drug and alcohol abuse policy.
- Pass a physical examination and any required pre‑employment testing.
- Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, and similar structures.
- Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights and in confined spaces (e.g., towers, vessels, excavations).
- Work extended hours on your feet on uneven surfaces such as dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, and gravel.
- Wear a respirator and other personal protective equipment when required.
- Predominantly outdoor work.
- Exposure to extreme heat or cold, humidity, rain, and other weather conditions.
- Loud noise from tools and machinery.
- Potential chemical exposure.
- Mobility barriers, uneven ground, and obstructed pathways.
- Work at low or high elevations and in confined work spaces.
- Minimum 1‑2 years of related experience excavating near underground utilities.
- Valid driver’s license required.
