JOB SUMMARYAs a Maintenance Technician with the Odessa R-VII School District, you will play a crucial role in ensuring daily operations and functionality of district facilities and equipment. Your expertise will be instrumental in preventing downtime, minimizing disruptions, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team focused on delivering outstanding results.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as inspecting, cleaning, and maintaining equipment and machinery.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing issues.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential problems and implement proactive solutions.
- Repair or replace defective parts in equipment and machinery.
- Collaborate with other team members to schedule and prioritize maintenance projects.
- Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and report any major issues to the supervisor.
- Assist in the development and implementation of preventive maintenance plans.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
- Other tasks as needed for district operation.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or relevant trade school education is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician, HVAC Technician or similar role (preferred).
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills to interact with colleagues and supervisors.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and perform manual tasks.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and practices.
