MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

MAINTENANCE (DISTRICT-WIDE)

As a Maintenance Technician with the Odessa R-VII School District, you will play a crucial role in ensuring daily operations and functionality of district facilities and equipment. Your expertise will be instrumental in preventing downtime, minimizing disruptions, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as inspecting, cleaning, and maintaining equipment and machinery.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing issues.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify potential problems and implement proactive solutions.
• Repair or replace defective parts in equipment and machinery.
• Collaborate with other team members to schedule and prioritize maintenance projects.
• Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and report any major issues to the supervisor.
• Assist in the development and implementation of preventive maintenance plans.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
• Other tasks as needed for district operation.

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or relevant trade school education is a plus.
• Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician, HVAC Technician or similar role (preferred).
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Effective communication skills to interact with colleagues and supervisors.
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and perform manual tasks.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and practices.
