Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Supervisor of Building Trades, the Electronics Technician performs installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of electronic equipment, security equipment, intercoms, and televisions. The role includes maintaining the electric shop, keeping records, making reports, supervising and working with incarcerated person crews, ensuring safety, and preventing escapes and contraband.
- Install, operate, maintain, and repair electronic equipment, security equipment, intercoms, and televisions.
- Maintain electric shop, keep records, make reports, and supervise inmate work crews.
- Ensure safety by preventing escapes, injuries, and contraband possession.
- Inspect premises and search incarcerated persons for weapons or illegal drugs.
- Maintain security of work areas and materials.
- May be required to undergo a physical and pulmonary examination for the respirator program.
- Possession of required minimum qualifications (see Class Specification).
- Eligible for a Training and Development assignment.
Salary: $5,477.00 – $7,553.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired at the minimum salary of the classification or the minimum of the alternate range when applicable.
Location: San Luis Obispo County – California Men's Colony
