Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician II plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and reliability of our facility's equipment through hands-on maintenance, repairs, and servicing. This full-time position requires flexibility in scheduling, including off-shift work, to effectively manage preventative maintenance and project completion with minimal disruption to production. This is an overnight role:
Sunday - Thursday 9:30pm - 6:00am. The Pay for this role is $30.00 an hour + $2.00 Shift differential.
- Conduct a wide range of routine and specialized maintenance activities including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repairs to ensure optimal functioning of all facility equipment.
- Implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs to reduce unplanned downtime and extend equipment longevity.
- Adhere to and promote safety standards including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Ergonomics, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and hazardous material handling to foster a safe working environment.
- Use and maintain power tools and powered industrial trucks safely and efficiently during maintenance and operational tasks.
- Maintain open and clear communication channels with Department Leads via verbal and electronic means to coordinate maintenance schedules, report issues, and advise on improvements.
- Assist in facility improvement initiatives, including equipment upgrades, building repairs, and process optimization projects.
- Respond promptly to machine breakdowns and facility maintenance requests, providing timely resolutions to minimize operational impacts.
- Perform electrical repairs within warehouse environments, maintain rack systems, and support backup operations including yard driving, battery changing, and custodial duties as needed to ensure continuous facility support.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including service logs, safety checks, and inventory use to support compliance and audit readiness.
- Participate actively in safety programs and contribute to ongoing training to continuously enhance technical skills and workplace safety awareness.
- Undertake other maintenance-related tasks and special projects as assigned, demonstrating adaptability and commitment to team objectives.
Willingness and capability to perform diverse roles including yard driving, battery changing, maintenance support, and custodial tasks as required by operational needs. Ability to read, comprehend, and apply safety rules, operator manuals, and maintenance instructions effectively. Proficiency in understanding and interpreting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including the ability to read schematics and diagnostic information. Strong verbal communication skills paired with clear, legible written communication essential for accurate reporting and teamwork.
Physical capacity to handle materials and equipment requiring lifting of up to 45 pounds, with the endurance to perform sustained physical activity for extended periods. Experience and knowledge to operate safely within dynamic and potentially noisy environments, with attentiveness to ergonomic best practices and hazard prevention.
Education / Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor's Degree in a related technical field is preferred to complement practical skills. Journeyman certification in a related trade and 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in fields such as Electrical, Lighting, Plumbing, Welding, HVAC, Dry Wall Repair, Painting, Battery Handling, Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Equipment Repair, Yard Driving, Pneumatics, or Hydraulics is highly valued.
The US base rate for this full-time position is $30.00. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will depend on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge and skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal pay equity. Compensation decisions are made based on the specific facts and circumstances of each role and candidate.
