Piledriverman​/Rigger - Primoris Heavy Civil - Louisiana

Overview

Primoris Heavy Civil is seeking to hire multiple skilled Piledriver man / Riggers for our ongoing bridge project in Shreveport, Louisiana. The Piledriver man/Rigger will assist the Pile Driving Crane Operator in properly installing the designated piles, offering physical support and feedback during all pile driving activities.

The Piledriver man/Rigger must be skilled in the assistance of deep foundation installation including timber piles, concrete piles, sheet piles, drill shafts, auger cast, etc. Must also be experienced in erecting, disassembling and working with pile driving equipment. Must have basic rigging knowledge and perform general construction duties.

• Erect and dismantle lattice boom cranes.
• Obtain necessary tools, components and lay out of work.
• Interpret hand signals to direct cranes for pile driving activities.
• Must be able to follow instructions.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Perform physical labor requiring arms, legs and whole body movement including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling materials at construction sites.
• Act as a team leader and mentor to less experienced laborers.
• Use safety gear and practice safe work habits per company policy manual.
• Ability to rig equipment and material to be set into place.
• Use necessary tools and equipment to complete job tasks.
• Will be exposed to adverse weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.).
• 2+ years of industrial field experience as a Pile Driver Helper preferred.

• Must comply with company’s drug and alcohol abuse policy.
• Must be able to pass a physical examination, pre-employment if necessary, and as required by the company.
• Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc.
• Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights and in confined spaces.
• Able to carry 50 lbs. of tools and/or materials; assistance recommended for items over 50 lbs.
• Must stand or walk for long periods of time.
• Must work extended hours on your feet on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel, etc.).

Predominately outdoor climate with exposure to extreme hot or cold weather, excessive humidity, rain, and varying noise levels caused by tools, machinery, and equipment. Potential exposure to chemical substances.
