Civil​/Mechanical Equipment Operator; Non-Driver Hollis Creek

Responsibilities

• Practice safety rules and comply with all company safety policies and federal, state, and local regulations.
• Follow verbal and written instructions and report to and assist the immediate supervisor.
• Perform quality work as determined by project specifications.
• Accountable for all tools and materials at the end of the shift.
• Work well as part of a team.
• Mobilize and demobilize equipment: loading, unloading, securing, set-up, and tear-down.
• Maintain equipment, vehicles, and tools, ensuring they are properly accounted for and used for the correct purpose.
• Serve as backup to other positions at the direction of management and perform other duties as assigned.
• Lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds daily; must sometimes lift over 50 pounds with assistance.
• Grasp and manipulate various hand tools daily; stand for more than two hours at a time, including twisting, bending, pulling, pushing, reaching, and stooping.
• Identify and distinguish colors and use manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
• Communicate orally and understand spoken instructions.
• Operate motorized equipment safely, especially where carelessness could result in injury.
• Perform work in environments that may be uncomfortable due to drafts, noise, temperature variation, or similar conditions.
• Proofread documents for accuracy and use a keyboard to enter and transform words or data.
• Comply with the company’s drug and alcohol abuse policy and pass any required physical examinations.
• Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc.; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work at elevated heights or in confined spaces.
• Work extended hours on uneven surfaces such as dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel, and similar conditions.
• Remain clean-shaven and work while wearing a respirator and other personal protective equipment when required.
• Work on industrial construction sites and/or fabrication shops; often in predominantly outdoor work environments.
• Be prepared to endure exposure to extreme heat or cold, humidity, rain, loud noise, and potential chemical exposure.

• Minimum 1–2 years of related experience excavating near underground utilities.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Class A CDL with airbrakes and tanker endorsement preferred.
