As a Field Technician I, you will help ensure MK 41 VLS equipment is maintained and tested to the stringent VLS requirements to maintain National Security.
Responsibilities- Fabricates, installs, maintains, and repairs electronic, mechanical, and other types of components and equipment.
- Work with the GDIT VLS Team to ensure operational status of contracted VLS work is completed to required procedures and specifications.
- Identify and correct any deficiencies found.
- Support the GDIT VLS Team to keep the Fleet and Program at the highest levels.
- 0+ years of experience.
- Ability to assist in the removal and/or installation of equipment onboard CG/DDG class U.S. Navy ships.
- Knowledge of proper use of hand and power tools, and ability to drive a stake truck into shipyard or naval base environments.
- Security Clearance Level: Secret, must be able to obtain both a security clearance and a DBIDS/CAC.
- Skills and Abilities:
Problem solving, communication, Microsoft Word, Excel, basic hand/power tools, test equipment, gauge calibration. Heavy lifting and prolonged standing on Naval deck plates required. - Preferred: MK‑41 VLS NEC 0981 knowledge; experience with removal, overhaul, test, and installation of VLS cell hatches, uptake hatches, deluge valves/hoses, Marotta valves, Hy‑Check valves, root and isolation system valves under qualified supervision.

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $23.80 - $32.20. Salary will be based on experience, geographic location and contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
