Job Title:

HVAC Serviceman (Entry Level)

Johnson Controls, leading Building Technology OEM, is hiring skilled HVAC Servicemen to join our growing business. This entry‑level position offers competitive pay, benefits, and the opportunity to learn and work with the world’s most advanced commercial equipment.

• Commission, service, and maintain advanced commercial HVAC equipment.
• Consult customers on comfort, building inefficiency and service‑related issues.
• Assist Journeymen in repair and service of centrifugal, absorption, screw and scroll chillers.
• Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems.
• Identify enhancements to improve system reliability and sustainability, and provide labor/material quotes.
• Participate in weekend, night, and holiday call‑out service on a rotating basis.
• Utilize factory technical support and certification resources from the Service Technical Academy.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Adherence to the company Safety Program.
• Minimum 2 years practical experience in residential, light commercial or commercial mechanical equipment.
• Ability to pass a skills and knowledge examination.
• EPA Refrigerant Certification required.
• Preferred 1 year commercial/industrial HVAC experience.
• Knowledge of maintenance and minor repair of pumps, VFDs, air handling units and rooftop units.
• Willingness to join the United Association (UA) of Plumbers and Pipe fitters.

Competitive hourly rate ($20 per hour, subject to CBA/rate sheet). Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement. Pay range reflects target compensation, but exceptional candidates may be considered beyond the stated range.
