Maintenance Department - Multi Craft Tradesman
Salary range: $21.21 - $34.54 12 Month Position Pay Band M60 Pay rate is determined by years of experience District Insurance package Access to the employee health clinic
The primary function of this position is to perform grounds-related work and upkeep across district campuses. Under general supervision, the employee performs basic, multi-craft tasks and repairs to equipment and facilities in support of the Maintenance and Grounds Department. This position assists trade-specific journeymen in areas such as electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, painting, grounds, and locksmith services, including the installation and replacement of equipment and parts, as well as general repairs.
Oversees the layout and stripping of various playing fields and surfaces for sports such as baseball, softball, soccer, lacrosse, field hockey, marching band, flags, etc. Loads/unloads trucks and moves furniture, equipment, fixtures, and other items as needed Supports snow removal by driving snowplow vehicles and/or shoveling snow Supports and performs basic installations, repairs, and replacement of components in areas such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, and locks as directed by trades/craft personnel Maintains district campuses by performing assigned grounds-related tasks, including bush trimming, weed control, mulching, general cleanup, athletic field maintenance, seasonal grounds work, and completion of routine grounds maintenance checklists.
Performs general maintenance and building upkeep as assigned Provides troubleshooting, repair & support Maintains inventory of parts and supplies Responds to emergency calls at night and on weekends

Varied work experience and knowledge of professional trades and crafts Knowledge of standard practices, materials, tools, and equipment of the electrical, HVAC, and plumbing trades Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions Ability to follow verbal and written instructions Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others Ability to operate a variety of shop tools, saws, grinders, key machines, motor vehicles, sprayers, power tools, forklifts, skid loaders, and snow plowing techniques Knowledge and experience with computer applications Mechanical aptitude Ability to prioritize, coordinate, and accomplish multiple tasks as a team member and in dependency Ability to read blueprints for various trades Availability to work rotating shifts, extended hours, short notice call-in, overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.

Work Hours:
8 hours per day; 5 days per week 6:00 am - 2:30 pm
