City Services

The City of New Franklin is accepting applications for a full-time City Services Employee. We are seeking a dependable, motivated individual with experience in municipal public works, construction, utility maintenance, or a related field who takes pride in serving the community.

Applicants should possess:

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience operating heavy equipment
• Experience in street, water, sewer, or public works maintenance preferred
• Electrical and/or plumbing/construction experience is a plus
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to obtain Class C Water Operator and Class D Wastewater Operator certifications (preferred if already licensed)
• Ability to pass a background check

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Maintenance and repair of city streets, alleys, and rights-of-way
• Water distribution system maintenance, water meter reading, connections, and disconnects
• Sewer collection system maintenance and repairs
• Street sign installation and street cleaning
• Park maintenance and general city property upkeep
• Maintenance of city vehicles and equipment
• Responding to water and sewer line breaks
• Snow removal and emergency response as needed
• Other duties as assigned
• Some tasks are physically demanding so ability to lift 75lbs or more, ability to bend, stoop, and stand for multiple hours at a time

• Monday through Friday
• Overtime, weekend work, and emergency call-outs may be required.
