Overview

Electrical Apprentice will complete hands on projects on the jobsite starting with basic cleaning and installation work all while helping skilled electricians performing their work. Must be familiar with basic electrical terminology and tools required to complete the job.

Responsibilities
  • Assist a skilled electrician and follow instructions
  • Prepare and clean work areas
  • Carry and deliver materials
  • Install, repair, and maintain various electrical wiring systems and equipment
  • Use measuring equipment and hand tools to perform conduit work
  • Follow safety codes and building regulations
Qualifications
  • Able to diagnose basic problems using basic tolls and equipment
  • Basic knowledge of NEC electrical codes
  • Eagerness to learn electrical schematics and blueprint reading skills
  • Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy
  • Plan work and select proper tools
  • Reporting unsafe conditions and practices
  • Performing only those jobs on which they have been trained and/or authorized
  • Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
  • Works under immediate supervision
  • Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment
  • Typically reports to a supervisor or manager
