Job Overview:
This role involves assisting with various manual labor tasks on construction sites, primarily focusing on support activities that do not require operating heavy machinery or driving company vehicles. The Laborer will perform physically demanding work to ensure project efficiency and safety.
- Perform general cleanup and debris removal on construction sites.
- Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and level earth to grade specifications using hand tools.
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment from trucks or other conveyances.
- Assist skilled tradespeople (e.g., pipe fitters, electricians, carpenters) by carrying materials, holding tools, and providing general support.
- Prepare and clean surfaces for painting, sealing, or other finishes.
- Operate small hand tools and power tools under supervision, such as shovels, rakes, brooms, tampers, and grinders.
- Erect and dismantle scaffolding, shoring, braces, traffic control signs, and other temporary structures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored.
- Follow all safety regulations and company policies, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Flag traffic or direct vehicles as needed to ensure the safety of workers and the public.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or foremen.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in a construction or manual labor role is an asset, but not required.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), bending, stooping, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, etc.).
- Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions accurately and safely.
- Basic understanding of construction site safety practices is a plus.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
