Heavy Equipment Operator

Waste Connections is seeking a safety-focused Heavy Equipment Operator for our Waste Management operations in the Skilled Labor department. In this role, you will operate loaders, dozers, and other heavy equipment to move, spread, and compact waste and recyclables at our facilities. You'll perform daily inspections, basic equipment maintenance, and follow strict safety and environmental standards. Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy equipment such as loaders, dozers, and excavators at waste and recycling sites
• Load, move, spread, and compact waste and recyclable materials to site specifications
• Perform daily equipment inspections, basic maintenance, and report needed repairs
• Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and environmental regulations
• Work closely with drivers, spotters, and site staff to ensure efficient operations
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and comply with site traffic patterns and signage
• Complete required logs, inspection reports, and basic paperwork accurately
• Respond to changing site conditions and directions from supervisors in a timely manner
