Heavy Equipment Mechanic Wage: $25.00-$40.00/hour

Heavy Equipment Mechanic Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, fuel systems, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, drive trains, and mechanical components
  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, annual services, and equipment readiness checks
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and technical manuals
  • Repair and service telehandlers, forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, skid steers, mini excavators, generators, trailers, and related equipment
  • Conduct safety inspections and identify equipment deficiencies prior to rental or delivery

    Replace and repair hydraulic hoses, cylinders, pumps, valves, and related components
  • Perform welding, fabrication, and component replacement as needed
  • Test equipment after repairs to ensure proper functionality and safety compliance
  • Assist with field service calls when necessary
  • Coordinate with parts suppliers and management regarding repair needs and inventory requirements
  • Maintain accurate service records using computer-based maintenance systems
  • Assist in equipment setup, customer support, and technical guidance when needed
Heavy Equipment Mechanic Requirements:
  • Heavy equipment mechanic experience preferred
  • Diesel mechanic experience required
  • Experience working on telehandlers, forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, skid steers, and other construction equipment strongly preferred
  • Experience with hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems required
  • Manufacturer certifications and equipment-specific training are a plus
  • Strong computer skills are required to complete work orders, diagnostics, inspections, and repair documentation
  • Must possess strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to work independently while remaining a collaborative team member
  • Safety-first attitude and commitment to quality workmanship required
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, crawl, and climb throughout the workday
  • Ability to work on and around heavy equipment, including elevated platforms and engine compartments
  • Ability to safely operate heavy equipment for testing and diagnostics
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and welding equipment safely
  • Ability to safely service equipment weighing up to and exceeding 21,000 pounds
