The salary range listed in this job description is a base salary. Applicants eligible for years-of-service adjustments or shift differentials may exceed salary range listed above.
This position will report to and assist with work at Graham Cave State Park, 217 Highway TT, Danville, MO. Primary work duties will include assisting with maintenance on the Mideast section of the Katy Trail State Park, which goes from east of Mokane to Matson Trailhead. This position typically works Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with a 30-minute lunch break.
Shifts may vary occasionally with the time of year and to meet the needs of the facility.
- Responsible for performing a variety of skilled work in maintenance, natural resource stewardship, and repair or alteration of state buildings and facilities. Work area includes Katy Trail State Park.
- Work in a variety of trade areas such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, concrete and masonry, painting, plastering, and mechanical repair in settings such as facilities and grounds.
- Routine cleaning of park buildings, restrooms, campsites, and park/historic site grounds.
- Operate and maintain lawn mowers, tractors, skid loader, trucks, chainsaws, leaf blowers, and similar mechanical equipment.
- Ability to safely operate and maintain chainsaws to include experience felling trees.
- Assist with prescribed burns, wildfire suppression, herbicide application, and other natural or cultural activities as directed with the completion of Level 1 Prescribed Fire training.
- Maintain a valid vehicle operator’s license to operate and maintain licensed vehicles, as well as tractors, mowers, skid steer, and other grounds related equipment.
- May also oversee a crew engaged in maintenance tasks.
- Position will require working a minimum of one weekend a month during the on season and some holidays. Must be available to attend meetings, trainings, and to assist other facilities that could include overnight stays.
- This position may be required to obtain and maintain a commercial operator’s license (CDL). If required and if you do not currently possess this license/certification, you will be given six months to obtain necessary license/certification.

Knowledge of materials, methods, and the appropriate tools to install, maintain, or repair pipelines, pipe systems, and fixtures, including water, air, steam, gas, chemicals, or sewage.
- 1-3 years of experience in any of the following trade areas: electrical, plumbing, concrete and masonry, carpentry, painting, plastering, and mechanical repair. (Additional education or experience may substitute for the required education or experience)
