Job OverviewThe HVAC Technician performs work on the Journeymen level mechanical work involved with the installation, maintenance, operation and repair of the air handlings units, chillers, boilers, VAV’s, VRV’s, fume hoods, pumps and motors under general supervision.
ResponsibilitiesEssential
Job Duties:
- Assignments can be received in the form of work orders, blueprints, sketches, verbal instructions or employees may be expected to schedule their own work, determine work priorities.
- Diagnose problems independently and determine the appropriate method and procedure needed to complete the work.
- Work with the Lead and co-workers, the HVAC Technician is expected to ensure that the work specifications conform to shop standards.
- Work with the Lead person to order materials needed for work.
- Must Comply with applicable federal, state, NASA, OSHA and environmental laws and regulations.
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment {PPE} at all times as determined by position and duties.
- Must be able to meet tight deadlines and able to handle potentially high-stress situations.
- Create and maintain a positive team atmosphere with effective interpersonal skills
Hourly Rate: 65.76
Job RequirementsMandatory:
- Education:
High school diploma or GED; completion of HVAC apprenticeship. - Experience:
4-year journeyman or 2-year technical experience. - Training: CFC and HFC certification for universal type refrigerants.
- Skill Requirements:
Skilled in the use of hand and power tools common to the trade. - Ability to interpret and apply codes, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of operation/installation of a variety of complete HVAC systems/equipment.
- Strong HVAC diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
