Fire Alarms/SCADA Systems Mechanic Responsibilities:
- Installs, repairs, and inspects smoke and fire suppress ions systems; inspects, tests, and repairs fire alarm wiring, fire alarm panels and peripheral equipment.
- Identifies hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
- Inspect, repair or replace smoke/heat detectors and sprinkler heads; repair and test dry/wet systems; tests fire alarm systems using appropriate diagnostic programs and equipment.
- Performs tests on fire pumps and standpipe systems.
- Extensive use of analog and digital electronics knowledge and training.
- Extensive work with cathodic protection, communications and grounding systems.
- Ensures that work is in accordance with relevant codes.
- Performs other general building maintenance as assigned.
- Works job assignments, researches and requisitions materials, and prepares necessary documents and reports.
- Requires working scheduled and unscheduled overtime work including areas other than respective skilled trade.

Qualifications- Must have ability to meet the requirements for issuance of a computer network account (favorable National Agency Check and successfully complete computer security training)
Experience:
- Any personnel performing work on fire alarm or suppression systems shall be NICET Level 3 Certified.
- Four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Shall have a minimum of three (3) years' experience in healthcare facilities.
- Vendor certifications and/or state licensing in alarm systems highly desired.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee frequently is required to talk or hear.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Must be able to work in a sitting position for 8 or more hours per day.
- Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds as needed
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
