Location: Marshfield, MO
Work Arrangement: On-site | Project-Based
Position OverviewPrismecs is supporting a temporary 480V standby power system at a client site in Marshfield, Missouri. The plant consists of nine 1,250 kW Tier 4 diesel generators and will be operated and maintained by Prismecs for a 12-month assignment. Site-team mobilization is planned for the first week of November
2026. The Mechanical Technician will perform preventive and corrective mechanical maintenance on the diesel generator sets and associated mechanical systems to maintain plant availability and reliability. This is a hands-onfield role requiring strong diesel-engine troubleshooting experience, with Volvo diesel engine experience mandatory.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and inspections on diesel generator sets in accordance with the maintenance plan.
- Troubleshoot and repair cooling, lubrication,fuel, air-intake, and exhaust systems.
- Service Tier 4 aftertreatment components and support DEF and fuel-system management.
- Perform oil, coolant, and filter changes and conduct required fluid sampling and monitoring.
- Support fuel delivery, containment-berm inspections, and spill-prevention activities.
- Document maintenance work and report defects,equipment running hours, and spare-parts needs to the Site O&M Lead.
- Follow site HSE procedures, LOTO requirements,and applicable permit requirements.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years of diesel power plant mechanical maintenance experience.
- Mandatory hands-on Volvo diesel engine experience, including troubleshooting and maintenance of cooling, lubrication,fuel, air-intake, and exhaust systems.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and OEM maintenance procedures.
- Good working knowledge of safe work practices and LOTO.
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass background and pre-employment screening.
- Experience with containerized ortrailer-mounted generator sets.
- OSHA 10/30 or equivalent safety certification.
