Career Launchpad, delivered in partnership with the California Department of Rehabilitation (DOR). This role will also support other IWSI America programs including Ready Willing and Able.
OverviewIWSI America is seeking a community-based Program Coordinator to support young people participating in Career Launchpad and related workforce programs. This role focuses on connecting students to meaningful paid work experience while building strong relationships with local employers, schools, and community partners.
This position requires someone who is equally comfortable working directly with students and candidates as they are engaging employers across Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. The role involves independent field work, relationship building, mentoring, and coordination of paid work placements.
Key Responsibilities- Build and maintain relationships with local employers across Riverside and San Bernardino Counties to support work placements
- Develop and coordinate up to 100 hours of paid work experience for participating students
- Coach and mentor students before, during, and after their work placements
- Support candidates with workplace readiness, confidence, and professional behavior
- Serve as a connector between students, employers, schools, and DOR counselors
- Track participation, progress, and outcomes in line with program requirements
- Represent IWSI America professionally within the local community
- Support delivery of additional IWSI programs such as Ready Willing and Able as required
- You thrive in dynamic environments and enjoy working with a team to streamline daily operations
- You have strong connections or deep familiarity with the local employer and business community
- You are confident working directly with young people, candidates, and participants
- You enjoy mentoring, coaching, and helping people take practical next steps toward work
- You are highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working independently in the field
- You understand how to balance employer expectations with student support needs
- Experience in education, workforce development, community engagement, or vocational services is highly valued
- Must reside in Riverside or San Bernardino County
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Comfortable traveling locally to meet students, employers, and partners
- Ability to pass a background check in accordance with local and state requirements
- Comfortable working out of an office from Monday through Friday 9 am - 5 pm while managing in person field activity
- Start date contingent upon successful completion of onboarding process & cleared background check
- Familiarity with (work management and CRM), Eventbrite, Zoom, and Outlook.
