Location: Normandy
Unpaid Intern/Practicum Summer/Fall
This position is responsible for assisting with the needs of homeless, runaway, foster, and at-risk youth and connecting them with resources, crisis intervention, referral information, life skills instruction, and tangible goods to provide for their basic needs.
Your Impact and
Key Responsibilities
* Crisis intervention services to at-risk, runaway, and homeless youth on the streets and on-site, including youth who are involved in the Foster Care system.
* Assist with structured life skills classes in the Drop-in Center during the day and on Wednesday evenings.
* Assist with any paperwork required for in-person classes, such as life skills certificates, attendance sheets, etc.
* Assist with the development of new curriculum and/or facilitate group life skills instruction under the supervision of trained instructors.
* Complete required client intake and enrollment documentation.
* Conduct street outreach with experienced staff in the community to locate homeless and at-risk youth in need of services.
* Assist with the planning and supervision of special youth activities and events on-site and out in the community.
* Participate in outreach events and community presentations as needed.
