The Sierra Conservation Center (SCC) is located in the foothills near Jamestown, California, and adjacent to the Stanislaus National Forest. The facility is about 70 miles from Yosemite National Park and provides housing, programs, and services for minimum and medium custody incarcerated individuals, focusing on rehabilitation and training within the conservation camp program.
ResponsibilitiesUnder the general direction of the Warden, the Community Resources Manager plans, organizes, and directs a program to develop, allocate, coordinate, and control all community resources for incarcerated people within the institution. The candidate will supervise the following staff and community service personnel:
- Institutional Artist Facilitator
- Staff Services Analyst (General)
- Management Services Technician
- Office Technician (Typing)
- Catholic and Protestant Chaplains
- Native American Spiritual Leader
- Muslim Chaplain
- Jewish Rabbi
- Friends Outside Case Visitor Center Director (functional supervision)
- Family Liaison Service Provider (functional supervision)
The role may also supervise staff related to training and development assignments.
Minimum RequirementsMinimum requirements are specified in the Class Specification for the Community Resources Manager in the Department of Corrections.
QualificationsApplicants will have their possession of minimum qualifications verified prior to interview and/or appointment. Candidates who meet the minimum qualifications with education must provide unofficial transcripts or diplomas for verification. Official transcripts may be required upon appointment. For foreign education, verification of U.S. course/degree equivalency is required.
