Full Time (Part‑time role). The position reports to the Executive Director and is 100% onsite.
Career Team is a leading workforce development organization that blends technology, training, and community partnerships to help adults and dislocated workers achieve employment and training goals. We are seeking a dedicated Career Advisor to perform professional counseling, intensive case management, and follow‑up services for job seekers.
Responsibilities- Provide information and case‑management services to the community.
- Complete intake and eligibility determination for the workforce program.
- Assess job seekers’ employment and training needs through interviewing, testing, and other methods.
- Serve as a liaison between workforce development programs and community partners.
- Enter data and process clients through any participant information system required by the One‑Stop system.
- Guide clients through the preparation of individual employment plans (IEP) based on their occupational goals.
- Advise clients on available job opportunities, training programs, and services.
- Refer individuals to appropriate services and follow up on those activities.
- Conduct orientation sessions, workshops, job clubs, and other group presentations.
- Maintain accurate individual case files and ensure compliance with eligibility documentation requirements.
- Develop comprehensive Individual Employment Plans for all customers.
- Coordinate referral and tracking of eligible customers into contracted programs on‑site or in the community.
- Meet or exceed program benchmarks and reporting requirements.
- Participate in staff events, training, meetings, and individual supervision.
- Complete all required reports and documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience in operations.
- Strong communication skills and knowledge of community resources.
- Analytical and problem‑solving abilities with sound decision‑making.
- Computer literate with MS Word and Excel; ability to learn specialized databases.
- Capability to work with a culturally diverse customer base and demonstrate cultural sensitivity.
- Serve as a role model and motivate customers toward goal achievement.
- Meet or exceed set goals and objectives.
- Excellent interpersonal, time‑management, customer‑service, organizational, and communication skills.
- Knowledgeable about the WIOA program and related workforce program requirements.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, flexible, proactive, and efficient environment while maintaining confidentiality.
- Exceptional time‑management skills to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Master’s or MBA degree.
- Knowledge of the local region and relevant partners.
- Bilingual or multilingual proficiency.
- Hourly rate: $26.80 – $27.00 (commensurate with education and experience).
