Join our Technical Development Team! Are you a systematic coder ready to take your skills to the next level? We are seeking a Junior Volunteer Programmer to join our team. This is a high-impact, unpaid opportunity for someone with a solid foundation who is ready to translate design concepts into functional game features and contribute ship-ready code in a disciplined environment.
The RoleWorking under the guidance of our Lead Programmers, you will be a key contributor to our development pipeline. This role is designed for those who have moved past the basics and are ready to tackle core gameplay logic and system architecture.
What You’ll Do- Gameplay Systems: Implement and iterate on core gameplay logic, mechanics, and player systems.
- Scripting & Optimization: Write clean, modular, and efficient scripts within the game engine.
- Technical Tools: Assist in developing internal tools to streamline the creative workflow for the whole team.
- Cross-Discipline
Collaboration:
Work closely with designers and artists to ensure technical feasibility and high-quality execution. - Architecture & Debugging: Participate in code reviews and assist in identifying and resolving complex technical hurdles.
- Junior-Level
Competency:
You have a foundational understanding of game development and are ready for real-world implementation. - Systematic Problem Solvers: You excel at breaking down complex requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Technical Proficiency: Experience with game engines (Unity, Unreal, or Godot) and proficiency in relevant languages (C#, C , etc.).
- Collaborative Spirit: You thrive in a team environment and are eager to receive and act on professional feedback.
- Portfolio-Driven: You have existing projects and are looking to add “shippable” features to your professional record.
- Gain hands-on experience in a professional, disciplined technical environment.
- Receive direct mentorship from senior lead programmers.
- Build and own ship-ready features for your professional portfolio.
- Collaborate with a passionate, remote team on an exciting project.
