Senior Software Developer

InCommon is hiring on behalf of a US-based AI-native solutions firm.

We are looking for a Senior Software Developer with deep strength in fundamentals, problem-solving, and data structures. You will design, build, and scale systems that are reliable, efficient, and maintainable. This is a hands‑on role for someone who thinks rigorously, writes clean code, and enjoys solving complex engineering problems.

You will work closely with product, engineering, and stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical solutions while setting a high bar for code quality and engineering practices.

• Design and implement high‑quality, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.
• Solve complex problems using strong data structures, algorithms, and systems thinking.
• Own significant components or services end‑to‑end, from design to production.
• Write clean, efficient, and well‑tested code.
• Participate in architecture discussions and influence technical decisions.
• Review code and mentor junior engineers to raise the overall engineering bar.
• Debug, optimize, and improve existing systems for performance and reliability.
• Collaborate closely with product and cross‑functional teams to deliver impact.

• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer (or equivalent impact).
• Very strong grasp of Data Structures and Algorithms.
• Excellent problem‑solving ability and first‑principles thinking.
• Deep understanding of core Computer Science fundamentals including:
  Operating Systems, Databases, Computer Networks, System Design
• Strong coding skills in at least one of:
  Python, Java, C++, Go, or similar.
• Experience building and shipping production systems.
• Ability to break down ambiguous problems and arrive at clear solutions.
• Comfortable with code reviews, design discussions, and technical debates.

• Experience with distributed systems or large‑scale applications.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with performance optimization and debugging at scale.
• Contributions to open‑source or competitive programming background.
