What You Will Be DoingAs an expert Data Scientist, you will collaborate with stakeholders to analyze business problems, define objectives, and deploy scalable solutions. You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of mathematical models—from proof‑of‑concept to production—for real‑world manufacturing sites and operating facilities. This role requires a blend of high‑level mathematical modeling and robust software engineering to integrate agent‑based AI systems and automate complex problem‑solving tasks.
Key Responsibilities- Model Development
:
Design and implement complex simulation and optimization models for real‑world facilities using Java or Python. - System Integration
:
Integrate agent‑based AI systems with mathematical models to optimize workflows and automate tasks. - Verification & Validation
:
Perform rigorous V&V of mathematical models to ensure accuracy and reliability. - Strategic Analysis
:
Execute model‑based studies and scenario analyses to provide actionable business recommendations. - Data Integrity
:
Independently analyze model inputs and outputs to ensure performance and data integrity. - Framework Selection
:
Select and define development frameworks best suited to specific business requirements.
- Education
:
PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or a related field (with statistics coursework); or a Master’s degree with at least 2 years of industry experience. - Technical Mastery
:
Strong fluency in Python or Java using object‑oriented programming to create complex production applications. - Modeling Expertise
:
Proven experience in the development of discrete event simulation or optimization models. - Data Wrangling
:
Working knowledge of SQL, Python pandas, or R. - Collaboration
:
Ability to work in a team environment with clear communication lines.
- Software Expertise
:
Experience with commercial simulation/optimization tools such as Arena, Any Logic, Gurobi, CPLEX, or Xpress. - Infrastructure
:
Working knowledge of Git/Git Hub and cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure). - Computer Science Fundamentals
:
Basic understanding of data structures and algorithm design.
$65.10 - $93.00 /hr.
