Prinicipal Software Engineer; Prisma Access

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to design, develop and deliver next-generation technologies within our Prisma Access team. The role involves building scalable software features and infrastructure for cloud-native deployment, optimizing system performance, collaborating with Dev Ops and technical support, applying PanOS features, and mentoring new team members.

• Design, develop and implement highly scalable software features and infrastructure on our next-generation security platform ready for cloud native deployment from inception to completion.
• Work with different development and quality assurance groups to achieve the best quality by creating tools, processes, and systems that promote transparency, alignment, and direction.
• Profile, optimize and tune systems software (management/control/dataplane) for efficient cloud operation.
• Work with Dev Ops and the Technical Support teams to troubleshoot customer issues.
• Work with other software development teams to apply PanOS features on Prisma Access.
• Interview, mentor and coach new team members.

• 10+ years of experience in developing data-plane applications.
• Proficient in C/C++ programming.
• Experience building applications in the cloud.
• Strong data structures and algorithms skills and debugging abilities.
• In-depth understanding of operating system principles and Linux/Unix.
• In-depth understanding of networking concepts and TCP/IP stack, TLS.
• Nice to have: hands‑on programming experience in Python and Go.
• Experience with Envoy is a plus.
• Exposure to building microservices.
• Enjoys working with many teams with strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Solid foundation in design, data structures, algorithms, analytical and debugging skills.

M.S./B.S. degree in Computer Science or equivalent military experience required.

Compensation depends on qualifications, experience, and location. For offers at posted level, the starting base salary ranges between $127,000 and $206,100 per year, with additional restricted stock units and bonuses. Detailed benefits available upon request.
