Senior Software Engineer – Maryland Heights, MO
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to support future franchise programs and develop next‑generation Mission Planning system for the Department of Defense. The role involves software development in an Agile Scrum environment using SAFe methodology, focusing on microservices architecture with JavaScript/React front‑end and C# back‑end services.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, test, and maintain weapon planning software throughout its lifecycle.
- Translate customer requirements into initial software designs with Product Owner.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize software products and functions for system integration.
- Document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs.
- Debug and resolve identified issues to ensure reliability and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot technical issues.
- Assist in developing, establishing, monitoring, and improving software processes.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Clearance.
- 15+ years of software development experience using JavaScript, Type Script, React, C#, and/or C++.
- Experience in developing and using RESTful APIs.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
- Experience with Agile methods and tools such as Jira, Azure Dev Ops.
- Experience with unit, integration, and system‑level testing in complex environments.
- Proficiency with Git/Azure Dev Ops version control.
- Ability to document software designs, interface specifications, and test plans.
- Defense, aerospace, or mission‑critical software experience, e.g., OMS or open architecture.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and secure coding for mission systems.
- Experience designing and integrating modular software components per open architecture principles.
- Understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
- Experience with .NET MAUI.
Competitive base pay range: $133,000 – $160,000. Benefits include health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings, life and disability insurance, paid and unpaid time off, and other programs. Base pay is based on experience and qualifications.
Security & LegalPosition requires U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance post‑start. U.S. Export Control compliance must be met, and "U.S. Person" status is required.
