Software Testing, AI QA / Validation Engineer
Responsibilities
- Design and evolve automation frameworks for web applications, APIs (REST and GraphQL), integration and event‑driven workflows, and mobile web platforms.
- Build and improve automated regression, smoke, integration, and end‑to‑end testing capabilities.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using Git Hub Actions, Azure Dev Ops, Jenkins, or Buildkite.
- Implement quality gates, reporting, and release validation processes.
- Partner with Platform and Dev Ops teams to improve test environments, observability, and developer workflows.
- Modernize legacy automation frameworks and improve test reliability.
- Drive AI innovation within Quality Engineering by leveraging AI‑assisted tooling, automation generation, intelligent test optimization, failure analysis, and developer productivity workflows.
- Evaluate and implement modern AI‑enabled testing solutions that improve release confidence, testing efficiency, and engineering velocity.
- Champion shift‑left engineering practices through automation, reusable testing patterns, self‑service tooling, and AI‑assisted developer enablement.
- Explore and introduce emerging quality engineering technologies, frameworks, and automation strategies that scale testing capabilities across the organization.
- Embedded quality earlier in the development lifecycle by helping product leaders adopt unit, API, integration, and automation testing best practices.
- Drive developer‑owned quality and self‑service testing capabilities.
- Establish scalable testing standards, reusable tooling, and automation patterns.
- Improve release confidence through better automation coverage and CI/CD enforcement.
- Leverage AI‑assisted tooling and automation to improve testing efficiency and engineering velocity.
- Lead and mentor QA engineers while remaining hands‑on technically.
- Collaborate across Engineering, Product, Dev Ops, Release Engineering, and Security teams.
- Provide technical guidance on testing strategy, automation architecture, and quality best practices.
- Lead and mentor both onshore and offshore QA engineering teams within a matrixed organization.
- Drive alignment across teams while fostering strong collaboration, accountability, and delivery excellence.
- Track and communicate quality metrics, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- 10+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, Software Testing, or Test Automation.
- 4+ years of QA leadership or management experience.
- Strong hands‑on automation engineering experience building and scaling automation frameworks.
- Expertise with tools such as Playwright and experience testing APIs, integrations, and distributed systems.
- Strong coding or scripting skills in JavaScript/Type Script, Python, Java, or similar languages.
- Experience integrating testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of shift‑left testing practices and modern SDLC workflows.
- Experience working closely with Engineering and Product teams in Agile environments.
- Hands‑on experience leveraging modern AI engineering tools and workflows, including Claude Code, AI skills frameworks, agents, and collaborative AI coworker models.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence across teams.
- Experience with mobile web testing and Browser Stack.
- Experience with Maestro or Detox for mobile automation.
- Experience with Cypress, Appium, Postman/Newman, contract testing and service virtualization.
- Experience with observability platforms such as Datadog.
- Experience with visual regression testing.
- Experience in payroll, fintech, ERP, or regulated environments.
- Experience testing OCR or document processing workflows.
