IT Business Applications Developer

The Business Applications Developer designs, develops, and maintains internal business applications that support operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making at Wallis Companies. This role focuses on the execution and support of electronic forms, workflows, and SharePoint-based solutions, working closely with business users, IT leadership, and external development partners. The position emphasizes hands‑on configuration, application maintenance, and technical coordination to ensure business applications are reliable, secure, and aligned with approved business processes.

The role also evaluates and applies automation and AI-enabled approaches when they can safely and effectively improve business processes, solution delivery, or decision-making.

• Design, develop, and maintain internal business applications, electronic forms, and workflows using platforms such as SharePoint Online, Microsoft Power Platform tools including Power Apps and Power Automate, Laserfiche, and Qdabra Forms Viewer.
• Implement enhancements and updates to existing solutions based on approved business requirements.
• Support operational efficiency by automating data collection and process workflows.
• Evaluate traditional, automation-based, and AI-enabled approaches to business problems, recommending and implementing solutions that are practical, secure, aligned with approved business requirements, and consistent with company data privacy, security, and responsible-use standards.
• Identify application issues, inefficiencies, or technical debt and recommend improvements.
• Assist in estimating effort and technical feasibility for application changes or enhancements.
• Develop system enhancements, workflows, integrations, reports and dashboards to improve business performance
• Prioritize work effectively while managing multiple projects and support requests.

• Work directly with business users to clarify requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Act as a technical point of contact for application-related questions and troubleshooting.
• Act as a technical liaison with external developers and website consultants to support implementation, testing, and issue resolution for approved business applications and web solutions.
• Communicate application changes, impacts, and limitations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Escalate development scope, prioritization, and vendor performance concerns to IT leadership as appropriate.
• Build strong working relationships with business leaders, end users, vendors, and IT team members.
• Develop clear technical documentation and end-user procedures.

• Configure and develop business applications across platforms including SharePoint Online, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Power Platform, Laserfiche, Qdabra Forms Viewer, and related business application tools.
• Build and maintain forms logic, workflows, validations, calculations, and integrations.
• Create and support SharePoint lists, libraries, views, metadata, and permissions in support of business applications.
• Design and maintain databases and data structures that support business applications, forms, and workflows.
• Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot SQL queries, views, and stored procedures used by business applications and reporting solutions.
• Support application testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and controlled deployment to production environments.
• Serve as a technical resource for troubleshooting complex application issues.
