Overview
The City of Maryland Heights is accepting applications for the Pool Manager at Aquaport, its seasonal outdoor aquatic facility, for the 2026 season. The schedule is varied and will include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Starting pay is $20.00 per hour. Lifeguard training is typically offered beginning in February, with normal work hours commencing mid-April through mid-September. A pre-employment drug test and a background check are required.
As a safety-sensitive position, Pool Managers are subject to random drug and alcohol testing. Hepatitis A vaccination is required due to the oversight of concessions.

This position also requires individuals to be vaccinated for Hepatitis A due to the oversight of concessions.
Responsible for overseeing aquatic facility operations and supervising staff in conjunction with, or in the absence of, upper management. Ensures the health, safety, and inclusive enjoyment of all facility patrons.
EssentialJob Duties
- Reports directly to the Aquatics Specialist and Aquatics Supervisor.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of pool operations, water chemistry, safety standards, and facility policies.
- Serve as acting supervisor when assigned, providing staff oversight, enforcing policies, and maintaining professional standards.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and sanitary aquatic environment for all patrons.
- Enforce facility rules and regulations for patrons and staff.
- Respond to emergencies in accordance with Star Guard ELITE Lifeguard Training, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and departmental Emergency Action Plans.
- Utilize computers proficiently, including Microsoft Word and Excel programs.
- Attend and complete all required pre-season, site-specific training, including certifications, safety and emergency procedures, maintenance, scheduling, and operational policies.
- Address staff performance issues, grievances, and disciplinary actions, and report to the Aquatic Specialist and Aquatics Supervisor as required.
- Provide courteous, responsive customer service and report patron feedback or complaints to the Aquatic Specialist and Aquatics Supervisor.
- Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with staff and management.
- Assist with the City of Maryland Heights Parks & Recreation programs and events as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- General knowledge of pool maintenance, chemicals, and policies.
- Ability to act quickly and effectively in emergencies.
- Ability to maintain accurate records of daily operations.
- Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Successfully complete Star Guard ELITE Supervisor program.
- Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and attitude at all times.
- Work effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and the public.
