Primary PurposeAssists in the supervision and daily management of aquatic operations to ensure the safety of patrons, the professionalism of staff, and the efficient operation of the facility. This position provides leadership to lifeguards on duty, reinforces high safety standards, supports staff training and development, and acts as one of the first responders in emergency situations. Head Lifeguards contribute to accident prevention, staff oversight, and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment throughout the aquatic facility.
SupervisionUnder the direct supervision of the Aquatics Park Manager and Aquatics Administrator, or as assigned.
ScheduleBetween 30 and 40 hours per week.
At least two (2) years of prior experience working in a lifeguard position is preferred. At least one (1) year of prior experience working in a lifeguard position for our Republic Aquatic Facility within the last three years strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities- Must be a strong swimmer
- Must be a self-starter who possesses initiative and urgency in their work
- Must be able to effectively communicate through written and verbal skills
- Must have good time management skills
- Must have good cognitive and analytical skills
- Must be able to handle stressful situations
- Must be able to quickly assess or judge situations
- Must be able to make decisions under pressure in areas of responsibility
- Must have a working knowledge in the basic skills of operating computers

- Must be at least 16 years old to apply.
- Must either have a valid Missouri State Driver’s License or reliable transportation.
- Must possess a current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certificate and be certified in CPR for the Professional Rescuer. All certifications must remain valid throughout the entire season.
Performs bending, squatting, crawling, twisting, kneeling, and reaching to ground level and overhead;
Must be able to reach, grip and hold;
Must be able to sit, walk, and stand for prolonged periods of time;
Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry 60 pounds.
