2026 SEASON INCENTIVES

• New lifeguards only - Reimbursement of cost of American Red Cross training materials if certificate obtained and hired as a Casitas Waterpark lifeguard.

• Returning lifeguards only - Start at hourly rate of $21.22.

Casitas Lake Recreation Area offers some of the most competitive pay in Ventura County for lifeguards.

Under direct supervision of the Aquatics Coordinator the Lifeguard is responsible for the safety of patrons within the Casitas Water Adventure facility. The Lifeguard should have a strong sense of commitment, professionalism, and be able to work under stress with a team. This is a temporary seasonal position in which the employee will be assigned tasks related to customer and employee safety, customer service, daily maintenance and other assigned tasks.

Temporary employees are subject to termination after the summer season unless transferred to another department at the discretion of the Park Services Manager. Casitas Water Adventure is typically open from May through September.

• Monitoring activities in and around the water through patron surveillance.
• Demonstrating professionalism and being alert at all times.
• Preventing injuries by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations or behaviors.
• Enforcing facility rules and regulations and educating customers about them.
• Recognizing and responding quickly and effectively to all emergencies.
• Administering first aid and CPR including using an AED.
• Working as a team with other lifeguards, facility staff and management.
• Participate in all meetings and training.
• Responding to customer concerns, compliments and complaints.
• Maintaining the facility to provide a safe and clean atmosphere.
• Carries out additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
• Act as a host to all Casitas Water Adventure guests.

• Title 22 Training

Casitas Water Adventure staff conduct at least four American Red Cross Lifeguard training sessions every season in preparation for the Summer season. Applicants for this position, or anyone from the public eligible to participate may do so by going to and signing up for one of the sessions or email  for training dates and information. The cost of training in 2026 is $60 paid directly to the American Red Cross;
Casitas covers the cost of training materials and instructor time.

• One year of previous lifeguard experience.
• Other language skills

• Vision with normal ranges.
• Hearing within normal ranges.
• Use of both hands.
• Withstand exposure to UV light, heat, dust and treated water.
• Ability to work in an outdoor environment.
• Exposure to direct sunlight and reflection off of water.
