Purpose StatementThe Head Cheerleading Coach is a pivotal figure in fostering the growth and success of our cheerleading program. This position focuses on developing students' technical cheerleading skills while building their leadership abilities, sportsmanship, and personal character. As a coach, you will inspire students to excel both on and off the field, cultivating pride in their team, school, and community.

Education Requirements- Completion of 60 or more college credit hours prior to the start of coaching.
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to build strong, positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
Demonstrated leadership, mentorship, and motivational skills.
Key Responsibilities Program Development and Oversight- Organize and oversee a fall competitive cheerleading season and a football sideline/game day cheer season
. - Organize and oversee a winter sideline/game day cheer season for basketball
. - Design a comprehensive program that promotes physical fitness, technical skill development, and teamwork.
- Teach the fundamentals of cheerleading, including stunts, tumbling, and routines, with a strong emphasis on safety protocols.
- Promote good sportsmanship, leadership, and respect for the values of the Howell Family.
- Encourage academic success, emphasizing the importance of balancing sports and studies.
- Serve as a role model and mentor, instilling confidence and a positive mindset in students.
- Plan and execute team meetings, tryouts, and a transparent selection process.
- Establish clear team rules, procedures, and policies, documenting them for approval by the Athletic Director and distribution to team members.
- Collaborate with the Athletic Director to recruit, train, and organize a qualified coaching staff.
- Provide guidance and support to assistant coaches, ensuring alignment with program goals and standards.
