Reports To:

The Basketball Coach reports directly to the Athletic Director, while working under the authority of the Building Principal and District Superintendent.

Previous coaching experience preferred. Basketball experience is preferable.

• Able to promote the district mission and a positive image to students, staff, parents, and the public.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, staff and parents.
• Ability to collaborate and work as a team with other staff within the building and district.
• Background in basketball and/or sports related areas.
• Takes initiative, detail-oriented and is highly organized.
• Promotes positive relationships among team members.

• Responsible for maintaining and utilizing student instruction to assist in the upkeep, supervision, and efficient operation of the basketball program.
• Responsible for the supervision and safety of students.
• Develops reasonable rules of team behavior and procedures, and maintains order of the team in a fair and just manner.
• Serve as the district liaison in public relations and communication relating to the junior high and elementary basketball program.
• Promotes basketball educational opportunities with students, parents, and community.
• Perform such other tasks and assumes such other responsibility as assigned by supervisors.
