Fleet Specialist for Data Center Operations (Critical Environment)

The Fleet Manager is responsible for ensuring the availability, safety, compliance, and cost‑effective operation of Black Box’s fleet supporting mission‑critical data center operations. This role directly enables revenue‑generating field activities by guaranteeing that vehicles, tools, equipment, and supplies are always deployment‑ready, with zero tolerance for safety or compliance lapses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure 24/7 fleet availability to support critical data center deployments and emergency response.
  • Oversee daily fleet operations to maintain high reliability and utilization.
  • Develop and enforce fleet policies, SOPs, and best practices.
  • Optimize vehicle and equipment allocation to meet SLAs.
Maintenance, Safety & Compliance
  • Execute preventive maintenance programs.
  • Ensure full compliance with DOT, OSHA, and site‑specific safety standards.
  • Maintain inspection, maintenance, and incident records.
  • Lead fleet safety initiatives and audits.
Asset & Inventory Management
  • Manage lifecycle of vehicles, tools, and equipment.
  • Track utilization, depreciation, and replacement cycles.
  • Coordinate procurement and disposal of assets.
  • Ensure critical tools are always site ready.
Financial & Vendor Management
  • Own fleet operating budget.
  • Identify cost savings and productivity improvements.
  • Manage vendors and ensure SLA adherence.
  • Prepare performance and cost reports.
Stakeholder & Team Enablement
  • Partner with Data Center Operations and Field Services.
  • Train staff on fleet usage and safety.
  • Act as an escalation point for fleet risks.

  • Zero critical‑site downtime incidents
  • DOT / OSHA compliance
  • Zero recordable safety incidents

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Associate degree
  • 4-5 years fleet or logistics experience
  • Experience in mission‑critical environments preferred
  • SAP, fleet management tools, OSHA certification preferred
